You can now tag messages within Weave on a message-level. To tag messages, hover over a message sent or received, and click "Tag Message". You will be given the option to type in a new tag to create it, or use one that you have already created. Note: if you are migrating from the Legacy Weave Application, you will need to create your tags again in the new experience.
